THE FALL OF THE DUCK DYNASTY

     Phil Robertson, the patriarch of the reality show Duck Dynasty, supposedly participated in hate speech today.  He made anti-gay remarks.  Well... sort of.  He quoted his Bible.  Which we all know is full of hate speech.  Yet we pretend we don't know this.  We pretend the Bible does not participate in hate speech towards gays, women and other religions.  We pretend it doesn't encourage murder in both action and words.  We are so adorable.      Now we are going to feign outrage at Robertson's remarks.  He was just paraphrasing (accurately) his religious doctrine, the Bible.  Evidently this man cannot accurately represent his religion. His representation ran contrary to the faux Christian doctrine which many Christians love to profess.  Let's look at what he said:

"It seems like, to me, a vagina -- as a man -- would be more desirable than a man's anus. That's just me. I'm just thinking: There's more there! She's got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I'm saying? But hey, sin: It's not logical, my man. It's just not logical."  When asked to expand on his what he believed to be sinful Robertson replied: "Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men." 

     Robertson is as eloquent as he is groomed.  Yet he does sum up the doctrine espoused in the Christian book of Practices and Procedures.  Let's not hate this unkempt man.  Well.... cause that would be hate, also.  Let us instead hate the religion which taught this man these ideas.  Let us not censor this poor victim.  Let us instead censor the religion which preaches such hatred.  Let's remove it from the shelves and let it's sponsors withdraw their support.  Or we could pretend the religion doesn't say these things and continue to call ourselves Christians while denying many of the abhorrent practices of such a hate-filled and muderous religion.  Yeah... I bet we go with that one.

     He expressed his religious views.  Which I believe is protected by the Constitution which is contained in his love-filled Bible.  We should not be upset at this man.  We should be upset such a religion is endorsed by our government and considered our national religion.  I am ashamed for all of us.  He is a victim.  I hope there is some type of homosexual rehab he can attend where he can find love not only for a woman's warm vagina but also the sexy sphincter of a finely conditioned homosexual.

     He also made derogatory and ignorant remarks regarding African-Americans: 

"I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person. Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I'm with the blacks, because we're white trash. We're going across the field. ... They're singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, 'I tell you what: These doggone white people' -- not a word!  "Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues."

     This would be an issue if we didn't have a black President who killed racism the day he took office.  Much like the blacks he never heard complaining because they might be beaten, lynched or killed, Mr. Robertson may now know what it feels like to talk out of turn and displease his corporate master.  I believe Mr. Robertson will now be singing the White Trash Blues.
